Navigating the Full Text

The Patrologia Latina Database uses various icons to facilitate the navigation of the Full Text of documents and divisions. These icons appear as follows:

	Text Only: Opens a plain text version of the Full Text in which no icons are displayed.
	Text Only with Notes: Opens a plain text version of the Full Text in which no icons are displayed. Notes are expanded and display in square brackets in context.
	Contextual Table of Contents: Accesses the Table of Contents page for the relevant volume which is expanded to the level of the current item.
	First Hit: Scrolls directly to the first hit (occurrence of your search term or expression).
	Hit: Marks every hit in the Full Text.
	Previous Hit: Scrolls directly to the previous hit.
	Next Hit: Scrolls directly to the next hit.
	Cross Reference: Takes you directly to the relevant point in the database.
	Apparatus: Opens an Apparatus page of Marginalia or Editorial Notes.
	Variant Readings: Opens an Apparatus page containing alternative readings.
	Figure: Opens the Figure page.
	Table: Opens the Table page.
